What is the DELF A2?
The Delf A2 is a recognition of the linguistic competency of a basic user, considered as a social actor. The candidate can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring the most common polite phrases and exchanges of information.
DELF A2 examination is based on level A2 of the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
DELF A2 recognizes elementary knowledge.
At this stage, you can accomplish the following:
Talk about yourself, your educational background, your job, your family, your hobbies and daily activities
Ask for goods in a shop
Order a meal in a restaurant
Ask for basic services in a bank
Indicate the nature of a medical problem
Use public transports
Ask your way, give directions
Buy tickets
Note down notes, simple messages, from notice boards and announcements, instructions and requests such as clients ‘orders and delivery dates
At this stage, the student should master the following grammatical structures:
Personal pronouns (I, you, we, etc.)
Possessive adjectives (mine, yours, hers, etc.)
Relative and interrogative pronouns (who, where, etc.)
The imperfect tense (I routinely did something in the past)
The passé compose tense (I did something in the past that has been completed)
The future simple tense (I will do something)
The conditional present (I “ought to” or would “like to” do something)

What is the DELF A2 test?
A good way of preparing for DELF A2 is to see what the test consists of. There are 4 parts in the test
Listening (25 minutes – score 25)
Comprehension questionnaires dealing with several short recordings about everyday life
Reading (30 minutes – score 25)
Comprehension questionnaires dealing with several written documents about everyday life.
Writing (45 minutes – score 25)
Two short pieces of writing (letter to a friend or message):
describe an event or personal experience
invite, thank, say sorry, ask for something, give information, congratulate in writing…
Speaking (6 to 8 minutes – score 25) Three parts:
a guided conversation (Approximately 1 minute 30)
a followed monologue (Approximately 2 minutes)
an interactive exercise (Approximately 3 to 4 minutes).
You will have 10 minutes to prepare for parts 2 and 3.
