French Lessons for Children in Paris

With our French classes on a one-on-one basis, children and teenagers can learn French in a fun and interactive way.

Whether your family is visiting Paris for a short stay, or your children are enrolled in a French school in Paris, French à la Carte offers private French lessons for children and teenagers at your home in Paris.

Our lessons are suitable for different age groups, ranging from 4 to 17.

Our classes offer an introduction to the language for beginners, based on communication, and classes will be adjusted for elementary, intermediate or advanced levels. All participants will develop their conversational and pronunciation skills, as well as learning new vocabulary.

All our private classes for children and teenagers are taught by French tutors who are experienced in teaching French to children and teenagers. Our tutors are dynamic, fun and encouraging. There are no rigid French lessons with us!

Frequency

Flexible: a weekly lesson (90 or 120 mins, or more if you wish).
An intensive program is also available (up to 12 hours per week).

Lesson Schedule

A flexible and personalized schedule that takes into account weekends and school holidays.

Tutor

Your children will learn French with a private tutor specialized in teaching French to children. The tutor will be a native French speaker.

Teaching approach

Between 4 to 7 years old : our teaching approach according to the children & teenager’s age

With our private French lessons for children, your kids will immerse themselves in the language through games, songs, and activities. Our lessons enable children to flourish and effortlessly acquire French, all whilst enjoying themselves without feeling pressured or even realizing they are learning. A communicative and creative approach will help give your children confidence in speaking.

Children 8 to 12 Years Old

Our courses are focused on conversational French. Generally speaking, children in this age group tend to broaden their vocabulary and use French more spontaneously. At this stage, children are now able to utilize a range of different skills, including reading and writing in French.

Outings can part of the programme. Paris, during every season, offers an endless list of activities suitable for children. If your children dream of climbing to the top floor of the Eiffel Tower, or seeing wild animals at a zoo in the heart of Paris, our lessons are designed with their needs in mind.

Teenagers 12 to 17 Years Old

For teenagers aged 12 to 17, the teachers will use resources based on the interests of this age group: comic books, TV series, etc. Private French lessons for teenagers are also based on a conversational approach. Other linguistic skills such as reading and writing comprehension, and grammar mastery can be part of the work during the classes.

Immersive French lessons in Paris can also be part of the teaching programme. From a pastry and chocolate tour to museums, we can offer immersive experiences that match their areas of interest.
